On June 9, 2025, VT healthcare and Hanel Joint Stock Company officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement to improve security standards and enhance data management effectiveness in technology-applied medical solutions provided by VT healthcare.
Digital transformation continues to be a top priority in the healthcare sector, aligning with the goal of universal health coverage and sustainable development by 2030. However, the implementation still faces many barriers. According to the Ministry of Health, by the end of 2024, only 31 out of 135 Grade I hospitals had implemented electronic medical records (EMR) according to roadmap 48 – reaching just 27.8%. One of the significant obstacles comes from the mismatch between IT infrastructure and actual hospital operations.
In addition to implementation challenges, digital transformation in healthcare also poses many cybersecurity risks. The National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC) recorded over 13,900 warning signals in 2023, many of which targeted public and private healthcare systems. "The Ministry of Health considers digital transformation a key task, and to do it well, information security must come first," affirmed Mr. Do Truong Duy, Director of the National Center for Health Information. Therefore, the process of digital transformation and data protection must go hand in hand.
Understanding that reality, the cooperation between VT healthcare and Hanel is expected to create synergy in promoting digitalization and building a secure, comprehensive medical information ecosystem.

VT healthcare provides total technology solutions for healthcare, covering administrative operations, diagnostics, and treatment, including: electronic medical records (EMR), PACS (for storing and transmitting diagnostic imaging), digital pathology systems (DPS), artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, and automated pharmacy systems. These solutions are designed flexibly to suit each hospital's model and help users proactively manage their data.
Meanwhile, Hanel has experience in IT infrastructure, e-Government, and smart transportation, and is expanding into digital healthcare. Hanel has collaborated with the National Center for Health Information (Ministry of Health) to provide information security solutions for medical units and now officially partners with a professional medical technology distributor – VT healthcare.
In this collaboration, Hanel will provide security solutions integrated into VT healthcare's system, including:
- A Security Operations Center (SOC) operating 24/7 according to international standards
- Pentest services to detect system vulnerabilities
- Direct expert support during deployment
This partnership aims not only to enhance operational efficiency but also to raise the level of information security for the healthcare industry. Both sides expect to establish a synchronized and safe medical technology ecosystem, contributing to the sustainable development of digital health in Vietnam.
